About Us
Established in 1995, Stokesay Mohair Farm is home to one of Australia’s largest herds of rare coloured mohair goats as well as over a hundred traditional white angoras. The goats are shorn twice yearly to harvest the luxurious, fine mohair fibre from which knitting yarns, knitwear, mohair rugs, dolls wigging and craft mohair of exceptional quality and durability are produced. The finest Merino wool is sourced from family farms in the Victorian Wimmera district for use in our knitting yarns and knitwear - often blended with mohair or locally sourced alpaca and featured in our handspun range.
At Stokesay we are committed to the use of natural fibres and are proud to be able to offer you a selection of the finest knitting yarns in mohair, wool, alpaca and cotton from other local and overseas suppliers as well as our own unique yarns. Every garment from Stokesay is individually handcrafted by one of our dedicated team of experienced knitters. |
| | All prices quoted are in Australian dollars. Delivery within Australia will be charged at a flat rate of $6 on all orders. Overseas customers will be advised of postage and insurance charges by email before orders are processed.
Orders may be made by phone, e-mail (credit card), by mail (click link at the bottom of the page to view and print order form) or shop online.
Becoming a Stokesay customer entitles you to FREE subscription to our regular newsletter, which includes free patterns, yarn samples and details of special offers.
Colours on this site have been reproduced to the best of our ability. Given that all of our products are made from natural fibres some variation is to be expected and indeed is often part of their unique character.
Our new website dedicated to knitters, Knitting Yarns by Mail is now up and running. You can view products or place orders on the 'Knitting Yarns by Mail' site in the same way you currently use the Stokesay Mohair Farm site. We will continue to operate both sites side-by-side for the next 12 months or so, with all knitting products duplicated on both sites. 'Knitting Yarns by Mail' has recently undergone a major 'facelift': we hope you enjoy its new look! |
| | Also visit our 'new product and news' forum 'Loves Knitting - Cooks for Fun' (accessible by clicking this link, or the 'New Product & News' tab at the top of the page). The forum features the latest news and product information from Stokesay Mohair Farm and Knitting Yarns by Mail, favourite knitting patterns and some of our favourite recipes ('just for fun'). We look forward to seeing you there! |
